San José, Costa Rica — Costa Rica's Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) has announced significant strides in its 2024 sustainability efforts, connecting nearly 79,000 homes with high-speed internet and bringing electricity to 3,000 people for the first time. 000 km2, Costa Rica is a highly urbanised country with some 77% of the population living in cities. WASHINGTON — IDB Invest has agreed to provide up to $100 million in financing to the Costa Rican Electricity Institute to modernize the country's electricity infrastructure and improve energy efficiency.
