A major upgrade is currently under way at the Msida distribution centre, supported by a €9 million investment aimed at significantly strengthening Malta's electricity distribution network. The project was discussed during an on site visit by the Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public. Enemalta, in conjunction with Infrastructure Malta and Transport Malta, has begun work on 60 kilometres of new underground cables in 21 locations across Malta and Gozo. Works on Enemalta's new electricity distribution centre in Siġġiewi have reached an important stage, with the building nearly complete and major components of the electrical infrastructure now being installed.
