Suspended optical cable laying
Overhead fiber optic cable is mainly used for secondary trunk line and the following fiber optic cable lines. Deploying fiber above ground on poles or towers removes the need for underground digging and is particularly useful when the ground is uneven, rocky or both. Minimize mechanical pressure on the outer sheath at crossing points: (armoured) cables crossing each other generate points of high pressure, so it is important when laying in figure 8 loops it is done in a correct way. We should always consider the restrictions established by different administrations related to this matter. Do not step on cables, cable enclosures, or suspended nd of a fiber that may be carrying laser light.
