There are two primary techniques for terminating fiber optic cables: Splicing: Joining two fiber optic cables permanently. This method is flexible, simple, convenient, and reliable, commonly used in building computer network cabling. For network managers and technicians, a poor splice can lead to significant signal degradation, network downtime, and costly troubleshooting.
